Our nurses are trained to manage minor illnesses, are very skilled and have the full support of our doctors to see patients who need to be seen immediately. They have access to the duty doctor at any time if this is necessary. Many of our nurses specialise in particular areas of care. They can be seen by appointment for wound dressings, injections, suture removal, blood tests, ear syringing and cervical smears. They work closely with GPs managing most chronic illnesses including hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, COPD and asthma for which they provide annual checks. They also provide continued contraceptive services, as well as health promotion checks, asthma care, audiometry, family planning, holiday health, travel advice and immunisation, weight reduction, flu injections and lifestyle advice.

Assistant Practice Manager
The practice team is headed by Sue Hart. She is responsible for the day-to-day administration and organisation of the surgery. If you have any queries, comments, suggestions or complaints concerning the practice, she is available to discuss them with you and may be contacted daily either by telephoning or calling at the surgery between 9.00 am and 4.30 pm.
Deputy Practice Manager
Our members of staff are fully trained and do a difficult job well. Please remember that if you are kept waiting, or seem to be asked one or two irritating questions, they are carrying out our policy which is aimed at providing a high standard of medical care for everybody. They have the difficult task of judging the urgency of your request; please assist them with their questions. By working together we can fulfill all our aims. Our reception team is co-ordinated by Ginny Ball and she can be contacted during normal surgery hours by telephoning 633682 or calling at reception.
The community midwife is attached to this practice and is concerned with all aspects of pregnancy and baby care; she becomes involved after the initial consultation with your own doctor. Parentcraft classes are held at the surgery and further contact with the midwife can be made by telephoning reception.
